TREC is able to assist Townsville and the North Queensland Region's Engineering, Manufacturing and Associated Industries work together to win more business.

TREC Provides members with market intelligence about existing and potential business opportunities and by so doing:

• Enhances the prospects for the existing work being retained locally.
• Makes members aware of new business opportunities.
• Allows members to work together and provide greater capabilities.
• Promotes new technologies.
• Provides training opportunities.

Training in National Code of Compliance,Tendering and Quality Assurance Workshop:

With the fall off in mining, private investment and the deferment of major projects, North Queensland businesses may find it necessary to seek work funded by State or Federal Governments in either government infrastructure and/or with financial stimulus packages.   The Townsville Regional Engineering Cluster (TREC) has had preliminary negotiations with training providers to help members develop the necessary policies and procedures and gain the appropriate accreditations for both the National Code and ISO9000.Training in how to bid for Government tenders will also be provided.
