Great Barrier Reef Trip
Sunsea Cruises operates day trips to Kelso Reef (brand new reef location located within a green zone) 5 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday). The MV Reef Cat takes a maximum of 150 passengers and is ideal for families and ‘first time’ reef goers.
The “Reef Cat” departs for Kelso Reef from the Breakwater terminal at 8.30am, however passengers should check in at the terminal no later than 8.00am. Parking is available at the terminal at a rate of $5.00 per day.
The vessel calls into the Nelly Bay jetty, Magnetic Island to collect those passengers staying on Magnetic Island. Departure from Nelly Bay is at 9.00am and guests are asked to be at the jetty by 8.30am.

Discover Scuba Dives:
Our professional dive instructors from Sunsea Cruises can take passengers on their first dive, no experience necessary (minimum age is 12 years). All they need to do is pass a medical questionnaire and participate in our dive brief on board.
Certified Dives:
Sunsea Cruises also cater for the experienced diver to view some of the most spectacular sites on our reef. All certified divers must produce a current dive certificate.
GUIDED ECO SNORKEL SERVICE
SUNSEA CRUISES is introducing a new Guided Eco Snorkel Service. This complete service is an introduction to the SUNSEA Reef Ecology Program, and is designed to give guests the opportunity to the experience the aquatic realm of the Great Barrier Reef under the guidance of one of our Professional Dive Team.
The program consists of educational briefing as an introduction to the GBR with specific attention to the inhabitants that may be encountered. Guests will then be guided on a tour of discovery to experience our distinctive reef residents in a safe and organised manner.
To Experience the unique wonders of Kelso Reef with this guided service an additional charge of $20.00 will apply.
REFRESHER DIVE
Certified divers who have not completed / logged 15 dives in total or who have not dived in the last 12 months will be required to participate in an Orientation Dive with one of our Professional Dive Team.
This dive is conducted in 3 phases which is designed to refresh the diver’s skills on the surface and in the underwater environment, and orientate the guest to the dive conditions including an underwater tour as described above.
Upon successful completion of this dive the guest will be able to participate on further dives at their leisure with a buddy.
For divers requiring this Orientation Dive an additional charge of $20.00 will apply
