About the Convention Bureau

The Townsville Enterprise Convention Bureau is the marketing body for the promotion of Townsville and the North Queensland region as a premier convention and event destination.

The Convention Bureau is the first point-of-contact for meeting planners intending to stage an event in North Queensland. We are the essential first point of contact for planners interested in sourcing information about the destination or discovering why your North Queensland program will be a memorable occasion for all. The Convention Bureau works in partnership with its diverse membership base to promote one of Australia's most unique meetings destinations.

The Convention Bureau is officially recognised and supported by the Association of Australian Convention Bureaux, Meetings and Events Australia and the Australasian Incentive Association.

The Townsville Enterprise Convention Bureau wants your business event to be an outstanding success and we will assist you to achieve optimum results. We act as a facilitator between the local conference venues, accommodation houses, service providers and the requirements of the event planner. We offer professional service, industry expertise and effective support from the earliest days to the final realisation of the program.

In consultation with the regional industry, the Bureau:

• Prepares bids and disseminates sales leads for conference and event business.
• Attends trade shows targeting the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibition industry organisers.
• Undertakes sales calls and direct marketing to the national and selected international industry markets.
• Coordinates and hosts familiarisation programs and site inspections for professional conference and event organisers, media and industry/trade.
• Maintains a database of government organisations, associations, corporates, professional conference organisers, destination management companies, incentive houses and industry offices both nationally and internationally
