Aussie Rodeo
This is a true outback experience – your own boutique rodeo event. Watch the professionals tackle the bulls and horses in a bone-crushing night of action. Underwater Dreaming
Dine ‘underwater’ at Reef HQ, the world’s largest living reef aquarium, without getting wet. No need to worry about the weather or getting seasick! Imagine a cocktail party in the living galleries or an elegant dinner in the theatrette looking into the spectacular world of a living coral reef. Your delegates will enjoy an underwater light and dive show during dinner followed by a guided tour of the spectacular complex with the dedicated and enthusiastic professionals.
Nautical Nights
Pirates, sailing ships and salty-sea action! Capture the nautical spirit of yesteryear under the life size replica of the bow of the HMS Pandora at the Museum of Tropical Queensland. Learn the story of the ship that chased the infamous Bounty mutineers and was wrecked on the Great Barrier Reef more than 200 years ago. Enjoy cocktails in this riverside venue with a background of old-time movie clips featuring adventures on the high seas. Dine in magnificent splendor in the Great Gallery to the sounds of lilting strings whilst gazing out on present day river traffic.
Beach Party
Go back to the ‘60s with a tropical beach party on one of the best beaches you will find anywhere – we have a number for you to choose from! The Strand, a world-class beach promenade where your delegates can enjoy balmy nights, tropical leis, great music and cocktails under the stars. Why not consider a South Sea Island Night complete with traditional dancing and music by Cook Island entertainers? Afterwards, get ready for some serious dancing amid the coconut palms on the sandy beach on the beach! Stage a golf day with all the fun of an island course. Have a watersports carnival with swimming, sailing, boat racing and finish with cocktails while the sun dips into the tropical sea.
Deserted Island
Your delegates have been in a ship wreck and abandoned on one of Magnetic Island’s beautiful secluded bays. Upon landing they discover a fleet of “mini mokes” and a tattered map in a bottle that has been washed ashore. A team building exercise with a difference, delegates embark upon a comical mystery mini moke rally around Magnetic Island, leading to a bonfire and beach feast.
Around the Billabong
Stage an Australiana themed night featuring cocktails with a crocodile, or a bush dance and sing-along. Maybe you would like an indigenous cultural experience with aboriginal dancers? The choice is yours. All are held in the Australian bush around a natural billabong. Afterwards, delegates revel in a nocturnal tour of Billabong Sanctuary. It is a chance for everyone to get in touch with their wild side. If a night encounter sounds too energetic, surprise your delegates with a breakfast where they can cuddle a koala and be joined by resident kangaroos and other animals amid sparkling sunshine and the freshest air imaginable.
Rainforest Magic
Towering trees, draping vines, dramatic ferns. Hear the sounds of silence; smell the scent of nature. Rainforest is one of nature’s greatest creations and we give you the opportunity to stage a magnificent banquet or event under the leafy canopy. Several venues offer facilities for up to 1000 diners or party goers. Your delegates are sports mad? Let them be part of the action with a venue for a sports themed event complete with national rugby league or basketball stars. Why not stage your own private race meeting at Cluden race track and enjoy the thrill and colour of horseracing with your own private bookie? Or perhaps join tens of thousands at a national rugby league game at Thuringowa’s modern stadium or Townsville Crocodile’s ‘Swamp’.
Tropical Cruise
Tropical breezes, deep blue sea and sparkling clear skies will draw your delegates to the water. Why not offer them their own tropical cruise? By day enjoy the sunshine, islands and spectacular views - at sunset cocktails, colour and atmosphere will charm and entrance. Anchor in a secluded bay and enjoy a gourmet meal while listening to the lapping water and succumb to the lure of the sea.
Party with Picasso
Treat your guests to a cocktail party amongst works by some of the best local, national and international artists at Townsville’s Perc Tucker Regional Gallery located in one of the cities beautiful heritage buildings or in the modern, stylish complex in Thuringowa’s Pinnacles Gallery. Add a string quartet, a pianist or a travelling singer from Townsville Civic Theatre to the mix for a truly memorable occasion.
Stock Exchange Extravaganza
Step back in time to when Charters Towers was the centre of the thriving gold rush boom by reliving a day at Australia’s first regional Stock Exchange built in the 1870s. Dress as a fine lady or gentlemen - but if you wish to buy or sell shares be sure to dress the latter part, moustache and all, as it was illegal for ladies to do so! Finish the event with a delightful outback feast.
Cattle Station Stir
Round up the herd and head home to an outback cattle station. Get your delegates’ blood pumping by experiencing real life in the bush with horseriding, mustering and fossicking. Delegates will feel as if they have earned their hearty bush tucker meal under the stars, complete with billy tea and damper, and will easily unwind with entertainment from friendly country characters.
Mama mia, bellisimo and all things Italian
Bring your delegates together through food and wine, song and dance and all things Italian in Ingham. Sixty percent of the town’s people are of Italian descent and local characters will add to the unquestionable Italian themed celebration.
Mango Madness
As part of a day trip to the Burdekin delegates have the opportunity to experience a taste sensation – all things Mango! Why not hold an off site themed dinner in between the rows of mango trees under the stars and thousands of twinkling in fairy lights.
Dinner by Fire Light
The sugar industry provides a spectacular attraction for many visitors. From June to November take in the amazing site of sugar cane burning as farmers prepare for the harvest. As a late afternoon trip (usually from 5pm onwards) for conference delegates it is outstanding.
Elegance Early 1900’s
Stage a magnificent fine dining banquet in the gardens of one of our many parks overlooking the Breakwater Marina and Magnetic Island. Theme the event in true turn of the century style, complete with costuming of the era and string quartet, followed by a round of “croquet on the lawn.”
National rugby league and basketball fill the calendar, and are interspersed with a range of cultural festivals, arts events and sporting classics including game fishing, the Australian Festival of Chamber Music, jazz festivals and the Winter Racing Carnival.
