Tourism Marketing & Development

Townsville Enterprise is the official Regional Tourism Organisation for the North Queensland region. This diverse region centres around the new Townsville City and extends north to Mission Beach, south to the Burdekin, west to Charters Towers and includes the islands of Magnetic, Dunk, Hinchinbrook, Orpheus and Bedarra.

Townsville Enterprise works with Tourism Queensland, local tourism organisations, local government organisations and its membership base to increase the region's awareness. This is achieved by identifying specific target markets through the Destination Management Plan and strategic tactical marketing campaigns, trade and consumer education programs and providing tourism marketing advice to the local industry. This is completed in partnership with industry associations including them Australian Tourism Export Council and the Queensland Tourism Industry Council.

All Townsville Enterprise members have the opportunity to participate in marketing activities relevant to their individual business needs. Markets include:

• Local marketing through the three Visitor Information Centres
• Targeting marketing campaigns to the regional markets including Mt Isa, Mackay and Cairns
• Consumer show activity for the Drive market
• Strategic marketing campaigns to the national fly market focusing on Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane
• International markets UK, Germany, other Europe, New Zealand and Japan
